Review by koshr

Ok so since i do not believe in lengthy summaries in reviews i will just give you the official blurb:

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars.

Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there.

After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive.

Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain-old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?

Mark Watney is just the most awesome guy. He is funny, witty, intelligent , highly capable but despite all this extremly humble. If you thought listening to a guy explaining how to get hydrogen from water can only be boring you are sorely mistaken. This book has many scientific explanations going on and they are all super fun and easy to understand thanks to the great voice of Mark Watney. After this book you might find yourself in a position where you want to learn more about Chemistry or Physics. All the other characters are more of a sideshow to Mark Watney but a pretty good one since you will like and sympathize with all of them.

The plot is pretty straight forward, a guy stranded on Mars tries to survive and people on earth try to help him. The important thing here though is that the suspense never lets up is exciting from the start to the finish with no interludes in between so be prepared to spent your whole day to finish this book.

So overall this book is extremely awesome and i give it nine out of ten stars and if you dont read it you are a fool.
